We’re in a climate emergency but for most Americans it’s business-as-usual
Congress won’t enact climate policies until their constituents demand it and show those concerns with votes, and most businesses won’t change their practices unless consumers pressure them to do so with purchasing choices. But we’re not even close. Meanwhile, Americans are flying and driving more miles than ever.
Public Health campaigns have changed opinions and behavior
We know that advertising works; if not we wouldn’t see so much of it and companies wouldn’t pay good money for it.
A comprehensive ad campaign about the climate crisis, with a variety of ads seen often and across multiple platforms, could penetrate the walls of denial and complacency.
This approach has never been tried.
